Quality Assurance Lean Six Sigma Lead

AEL-Span, a progressive and rapidly growing Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider, is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Lean Six Sigma Lead for our facility in Belleville, Michigan. 

As a member of the Quality Team, the right candidate will ensure robust processes are in place and  adhered to in assigned departments.   Also responsible for ensuring full compliance of the established requirements of ISO 9001:2008, as well as internal operational procedures.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure training is conducted and processes are properly implemented and followed. Escalate any concern regarding training effectiveness.
  • Work closely with site management to raise the level of performance of the operation for all warehouse and office processes.
  • Ensure all quality documents and control plans are up to date and controlled.
  • Conduct, document and follow-up on Internal Audits (QMS, Process, DCC & ESD) based on PDCA Method
  • Prepare for ISO certification audits and ensure department compliance to ISO / TS standards.
  • Respond to customer corrective action requests and ensure actions related to corrective actions mitigate all risks .
  • Identify, document, and implement improvements through lean approach to quality system procedures and work instructions.
  • Support, document and update: Visual Aids, Process Instructions, Procedures, Deviations, Manuals, Customer Documents, Corrective & Preventive Actions and External (8D)
  • Regularly review error-proof processes such as re-labeling and inspection processes for potential failures. Implement process poke-yokes.
  • Conduct monthly audits and assess program compliance by reviewing and analyzing results
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Assist management in achieving operational excellence.
  • Ability to develop any new activity or project assigned related to Quality and Continuous Improvement

Position Requirements

  • MUST Have - Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering, Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain Management
  • Prefer at least three (3) years of proven experience in similar role with experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • Experience in Internal Audits, Document Control, Corrective Actions
  • ISO 9001:2008 / TS 16949 knowledge
  • Excellent computer skills, not limited to MS Office, Windows, Visio
  • Able to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to utilize basic statistical control methods
