We currently have an opening at our Corporate office in Belleville, Michigan for an EDI Developer who will work with both internal departments and external customers/vendors to deliver quality Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations that are efficient, scalable and maintainable. This includes interpreting, clarifying and coding to specifications as well as testing and maintaining. The developer will be part of Application Support team that is developing, acquiring and deploying EDI solutions for critical business areas integrating with our Warehouse Management System. (WMS). 

What you’ll be doing:

Running daily operations and responding to enhancement requests or projects. The right candidate must be able to exercise good judgement researching, resolving production incidents and developing new solutions.   In addition you will be:

  • Writing/maintaining software code for creating mapped files used in the front end process.

  • Responsible for designing and developing specs for enhancements and extensions to EDI application interfaces and maps.

  • Create new/update existing customer EDI maps based upon Enhancement requests or projects.

  • Documenting data processing flows between EDI and Core Platform systems.

  • Working with the Infrastructure team to design/develop efficient monitoring and reporting scripts.

  • Maintaining and supporting existing EDI transactions, including, the timely processing of daily inbound orders, inventory disposition, and outbound order processing.

  • Communication with customers via EDI applications and customer portals.

  • Monitoring and executing daily batch jobs when needed, escalating all issues through our IT Service Management Solution.

  • Timely resolve all critical production issues, proactively identify root causes and implement permanent fixes to improve the overall stability of integration platform.

  • Working closely with the Infrastructure team to ensure the supportability of new EDI solutions.

  • Driving change by pushing for continuous improvement and enhanced quality.

  • Building and fostering effective relationships between the business and IT.

It would be beneficial if you had:

  • Industry experience in 3PL Operations
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems. CrossDock, Sequencing
  • Experience with Boomi 
  • Experience with relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL
  • Working knowledge of desktop computers, notebooks, local area networks (LANs) and general IT security practices
  • Knowledge and experience working with different IT methodologies, such as ITIL, SDLC, Agile, Scrum.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
EDI experience including mapping, coding, and testing (UAT)

Experience in a rapidly changing working environment with EDI implementations

Experience in a technical and functional role developing maps and code for EDI transactions specifically: 850, 860, 855, 856, 810, 940, 945.

Experience planning, managing, testing, documenting and implementing EDI account setups.
