Job Summary

As a progressive and rapidly growing Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider, we are seeking an experienced Site General Manager to maintain exceptional operational performance and customer satisfaction at our facility in Belleville, Michigan.  We are looking for someone who shares our philosophy of Excellence through Passion in a multi-client operation.

The right candidate will be able to:

Ensure that standards and procedures are optimized for improved performance, increased profitability within assigned areas(s) through productivity controls, error proofing, and continuous improvement.

  • Trains, motivates, monitors and oversees operational staff using excellent communication skills.
  • Ensures the effective allocation of resources (manpower/equipment) with consideration of the immediate impact on financial performance and assists in the development of departmental expenses to maximum operation at minimum expense
  • Ensures the adherence that all safety policies and procedures are followed; ensures appropriate staff training is achieved.
  • Develops and coordinates special tasks for operational improvement.  Communicates challenges and/or opportunities to appropriate team members.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are being followed by all to comply with service expectations.
  • Responsible for the management of safety and all concerns throughout all facets of the operation.
  • Ensures appropriate record keeping, organization of training programs and implementation of any related processes.
  • Responsible for managing equipment resources including needs, repairs, and record keeping of all equipment.

Primary Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.
  • Work with Site Management to develop a sustainable continual improvement culture.
  • Work with leadership to drive continual improvement programs, Kaizen events, and workshops.
  • Bachelors’ Degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Automotive experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage people, departments and foster teamwork.
  • Ability to understand quality documents.
  • Ability to understand KPI’s.
  • Knowledgeable  of 5s and Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Knowledge of Quality Core Tools (Control Plan, FMEA, Process Flow), preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO / TS 16949 tools, preferred
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
